About Mandy Esch

Mandy with a group of students.Mandy Esch was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA.

She started surfing at the age of 13 and didn't even get on a skateboard until 18, on an unusually flat summer.

She quickly became talented and ended up quitting a full-time job to work at the Vans Skatepark at the Block at Orange. Her skills increased by skating before and after EVERY shift at the park.

Mandy's Ultimate Goal: turn the next generation of groms into rippers!

Mandy's Coaching History

Mandy began instructing while working at the Vans Skatepark in Orange. Teaching everyday at the designated time her clinics grew more popular each month. They were so successful that she was picked up by Op to teach at the Girls Learn to Ride clinic Vans was hosting. Op was so pleased they hired her to teach all of the GLTR clinics in Southern California.

That summer Mandy was hired to lead the instruction at a four-day, all girls, surf and skate event on the beach sponsored by Hello Kitty. "Boardfest," as it came to be known continued to hire Mandy for the following four years.

She continued to freelance adding Etnies, Freshpark, the Girl's Riders Organization (GRO), and Girls Get on Board to her résumé.

The following summer Mandy taught full time for 180 Skateboarding, a local summer skatecamp. From there she was commissioned to be the lead counselor/instructor for Woodward West, an all inclusive skate resort in Tehachapi, CA. Upon returning she was employed by a surf/skate shop in Huntington Beach called HB Wahine. For 3 years she created and ran a program of private lessons, summer camps, and skateboarding birthday parties. During this time she also volunteered for a program entitled "Project Hangout" which used skateboarding as a way to mentor at risk youth.

Mandy would later expand her HB Wahine camps to include a partnership with the city of San Clemente. She ran one summer's worth of programs before leaving to start her own business named after the first trick she ever learned. 360 Skate School is growing into a network of private skate and surf lessons that span spots all over Orange County. 360 is currently partnering with the city of Fountain Valley to provide summer camps for a community that previously had no outlet for local skaters. She is by far the most experienced and qualified instructor in the skate industry.

Mandy is also the resident pro advisor for OCSkateboarding.com where she provides park reviews, trick tips and is helping to organize upcoming events with OCSkateboarding.
